The Atlanta Historical Society maintains a small city park that houses the old Atlanta Jail, built in 1910, and the historic Log Cabin, built in 1870. The Jailhouse serves as a display area for historic photos of Atlanta and Rocky Bar. The Log Cabin has been restored to illustrate pioneer life on the Idaho Frontier. Both are open and free to the public. The Atlanta Historical Society maintains the Pioneer Cemetery and is actively restoring parts of it that have deteriorated over the years. The cemetery contains 122 graves, dating back to 1870, including the grave of legendary Atlanta character, Dutch Em. The Historical Society is also responsible for the preservation and maintenance of the Old Schoolhouse building that now serves as a Community Center. The Historical Society holds the water rights to the Hot Springs complex, located near the community, and with the help of the local community keeps the area maintained.

Part of the townsite is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Atlanta Historical Society and private land owners are working to preserve the historic character of the townsite. Preservation projects are funded by grants, donations and local fundraising activities. The Atlanta Historical Society is a 501 C-3 non profit Corporation and donations are tax deductible. The Historical Society is always interested in collecting photographs and archives relating to the history of Atlanta and Rocky Bar.
