Steeped in history and scenic beauty, the Township of Atlanta, Idaho is home to approximately 40 hearty year round residents at the base of the world famous Sawtooth mountain range.

Established in 1863 as a gold mining town near the headwaters of the Middle Fork of the Boise River, a mere 100 miles from Boise, Atlanta was named after the Civil War battle of Atlanta. Atlanta still clings to its mining roots but has diversified into tourism, back country activities and historical preservation.

Atlanta welcomes you to pull up a chair and stay awhile.
